Flimsy Sanity: Of No Importance

Flimsy Sanity

In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. - Friedrich Nietzsche

Of No Importance

I was curious about the song House of the Rising Sun and according to the lyrics, it is a woman lamenting her life. Almost all the renditions feature male singers. See, I told you it was of no importance.

No importance! It may be of no importance to you, but it happens to be the first 'number' ever performed by the 'Reflections', a British rock band consisting of five members, of which I was the rhythm guitarist. Sparkbrook Parish Hall, Birmingham, England (pronounced 'Burmingum' by the locals) was the venue and we were rapturously applauded after our twenty minute slot - I think due to the fact that we were finally off and the disco was on, so they could dance. Yes, our lead vocalist was male (well, I think he was!)
