Flimsy Sanity: A new approach for telemarketers

Flimsy Sanity

In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. - Friedrich Nietzsche

A new approach for telemarketers

I must admit I am a little generous with charities and I have no doubt they sell your name to other charities. I get lots of telephone calls asking for money. From now on, this is what I'm going to say, "She's not here right now. I'm her sister staying here to watch her dogs until she gets out of jail for passing bad checks."

    LOL... I like that.
Ya know, I always say my name is Rufus, and I'm just house-sitting, but I like yours better. ~S

I'm afraid I just say "No, go away." Then I use ever stronger variations on that theme until they get the message. I have little time for charities. They are simply variations on the theme of private enterprise and relieve government of its responsibilities. Having worked for one for thirteen years I am only too aware how much of your hard-earned cash gets squandered, or spent on expensive 'fringe' benefits. Do away with charities and government would have to take on their work. We would all get taxed a little more to pay for it and eventually America might turn into a welfare state with a health system that catered for the poor and needy. It doesn't have it now, even with all the 'so-called' charities.
Sorry if I sound cynical, but I am.
