Flimsy Sanity: Sobriety Checkpoint

Flimsy Sanity

Sobriety Checkpoint

Call me paranoid, but I think North Dakota is the most corrupt (per capita) state in the union. This article shows typical abuse of the legal system for a good old boy. Pretty soon honest cops quit and the system is rotted from stem to stern.

Have you been to Alabama? Or Massachusetts? The one thing I can say about North Dakota is, their coffee sure is weak. Mebbe they need more starf**ks.

    Nice blog.

North Dakota? Really? Even more than Alabama?
(kidding, I can't verify that... it's just that Alabama scares me).

Incidentally... I thought the Asimov quote of the day was brillaint.

It used to be illegal in Britain for police to stop any car unless they had justifiable, and provable, reason to suspect the driver guilty of an offence. They were not allowed to detain drivers on the offchance. I say 'used to be' because I can find no verification it is still the case, and so-called "anti-terrorist legislation" serves as an excuse to twist the police-state thumbscrews everywhere these days. Incidentally, in Britain the police are subject to speed controls like any private citizen, unless answering an emergency call. American police seem to be immune from any traffic violations. Some of them are downright dangerous.
