Where have all the birds gone?

My neighbors are both bird lovers and they are upset. All the sparrows and most of the other birds that show up in the spring are absent. They are thinking someone may have poisoned them. Durwood said he misses even the sparrows - people just hate them because they are plentiful and common, but as birds go, they are just doing what comes naturally. Maybe messy, but what in life ain't?
